What is the real value of a $1.99 app giveaway?

I told a friend about our year end giveaway and that chat inspired me to write this blog post.

Me: I am running a year end giveaway on my website.
Friend: What are you giving away? 
Me: I am giving away full versions of Kinder Tangram, it's worth $1.99 if you buy the in-app purchase.
Friend: That's not worth a lot.

So, what is the real value of a $1.99 app giveaway? If you give $2 to a child, well she might just go and get a candy bar. If you give $2 to a homeless person, that could be a hot meal he needs for a very cold night, in some parts of the world.

Like building blocks, tangrams can teach kids about spatial awareness. They help children understand fractions, areas, geometric shapes - perform better in general mathematics. Spatial awareness is important in STEM education and careers as these areas typically involve lots of problem solving. In order to solve these problems, spatial thinking often needs to be applied.
